SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Assistant Professor in Computer Science is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, conducting scholarly research, and contributing to academic service within the Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) program. The incumbent will support teaching across the program’s three concentrations, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, and Networking & Cloud Computing, while participating in curriculum development, accreditation processes, student advising, and community engagement in alignment with Fujairah University’s mission and academic standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study, considering and aiming to achieve the three (3) fundamental standards of the University, those are Teaching, Research and Services.
- Supervision of students during patient care with specific duties including the essential documentation of that supervision, evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success.
- Research, organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networks.
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Actively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course objectives.
- Support and participate in accreditation initiatives.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Report to: Dean College of Engineering & Technology
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Specialization in Computer Science Subjects
- Minimum of 2 years of university-level teaching experience (prior UAE or GCC experience preferred).
- A record of scholarly research and publications in reputable venues.
- Ability to teach courses in areas such as:
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- Data Structures
- Computer Networks
- Introduction to Software Engineering
- Cloud Computing
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).
- Experience supervising student projects, research, or internships (preferred).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Cloud Computing / AWS) are an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Previous academic experience (Minimum of 2 years).
- Strong teaching skills and commitment to student-centered learning.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and deliver clear and engaging presentations.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse and multidisciplinary academic community.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit academic and instructional materials.
- Skills in program planning, curriculum design, and implementation.
- Knowledge of computerized student information systems and learning management systems.
- Active research skills with potential for securing external funding.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to academic integrity.
