SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
 The Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity contributes to high-quality teaching, applied research, academic advising, and community engagement within the College of Engineering and Technology. The incumbent will support the development and continuous improvement of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Cybersecurity concentration) and related programs, in alignment with Fujairah University’s mission and UAE academic accreditation standards (CAA / ABET). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.
  • Design, update, and deliver course content aligned with modern cybersecurity technologies, industry standards, and accreditation requirements (CAA / ABET).
  • Advise and mentor students on academic progression, professional development, and research projects.
  • Supervise undergraduate graduation projects and provide guidance on applied and research-based topics.
  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Contribute actively to curriculum enhancement, program review, and accreditation processes.
  • Participate in departmental and university committees, community outreach, and industry partnerships.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to support excellence in teaching and research.
  SUPERVISION:
  • Report to: Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of university-level teaching experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
  • Strong research record with publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience supervising graduation projects and/or research theses.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Wireless & Mobile Security, IoT Security, Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, Cloud & Network Security, Blockchain Security.
  • Demonstrated experience in professional or academic service, community engagement, or industry collaboration (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
 
 KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 
  • Previous academic experience (Minimum of 3 years).
  • Strong research and publication record.
  • Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts effectively.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality presentations and instructional materials.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse, multicultural academic community.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Program planning, curriculum development, and implementation skills.
  • Familiarity with accreditation requirements (CAA and/or ABET).
  • Knowledge of computerized student information systems and e-learning platforms.
