Major : Specialization: PhD in Artificial Intelligence or closely related fields

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:The Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence is responsible for providing high-quality teaching, advancing scholarly research, and contributing to academic service within the College of Engineering and Technology. The incumbent will support undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, supervise research activities, and participate in curriculum development and program evaluation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.
· Design and deliver course content aligned with current industry trends.
· Advise and mentor students on academic and research matters.
· Conduct and publish high-quality research in reputable journals and conferences.
· Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
· Participate in university service, including committees and outreach activities.
· Engage in continuous professional development and remain updated in the field

SUPERVISION:
· Report to: Dean College of Engineering & Technology

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning.
· Minimum of 3 years of university-level teaching experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
· Proven research record in AI and ML.
· Expertise in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, or related fields.
· A good record in supervising postgraduate research theses and dissertations.· Strong communication skills in English (both written and oral).
· Familiarity with ethical implications and development of intelligent systems.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
· Previous academic experience (Minimum of five years after PhD)
· Strong research and publication profile in Artificial Intelligence and related fields.
· Ability to communicate complex AI concepts effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
· Ability to develop and deliver impactful presentations and instructional content.
· Ability to work effectively within a diverse academic community.
· Ability to create, compose, review, and edit research and instructional materials.·
 Skills in curriculum development, program planning, and accreditation processes.
· Knowledge of emerging trends, tools, and technologies in AI and Machine Learning.
· Potential to secure external research funding.
· Commitment to ethical research conduct and academic integrity.
· Knowledge of computerized student information systems and digital learning platforms.
